Process

At Home Resource Network of Seattle Inc, we match the individual homeowner’s project need with the most appropriate professional in our network of home specialists.

  • You submit your home project information.
  • Home Resource Network of Seattle identifies and contacts the most appropriate contractor(s) for the job.
  • The contractor calls you in a timely manner to schedule an appointment with you.
  • Contractor meets with you and submits a proposal.
  • You select the contractor.
  • HRN stays in contact with you throughout the entire project and provides any additional support or communication needed.

Home Resource Network of Seattle Inc sends out customer satisfaction surveys after every project, which helps us keep track of the changes we need to make to help strengthen the quality of our organization.

How do you screen your contractors?

We generally hear about our contractors through word of mouth. Our contractors typically generate their work load through referrals and from repeat loyal customers. Contractors like to work with HRN because we bring them projects that are suited to their specialties within their geographical boundaries. We are happy to represent an outstanding group of professionals.

HRN selects contractors to participate in its network who, at the time of screening, have

  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • Proper and current licensure, bond and insurance, as confirmed with Washington State’s Department of Labor & Industries (L&I).
  • Strong references from at least 5 sources
  • Appear to have a good attitude and professional demeanor

HRN’s screening process involves:

  • Conducting a telephone interview with each contractor
  • Confirming with L&I that each contractor in our network has a valid contractor’s license and is insured and bonded
  • Contacting at least 5 references

In addition, we collect information regarding interest in and past experience with green building practices. To the extent possible, we try to work with contractors who are implementing various ‘shades of green’ into their already established practices, and with those companies who are experienced in and knowledgeable about green building practices.

We look forward to working with you.
